 There were some crisis in Korea history such as 'Two Koreas in the Cold War', ' Nuclear Crisis' and so on. Among them I'd like to talk about the 'Poor Labor environment cisis' behind South Korea's amazing economic development. It can be revealed through Seoul as typically.

SEOUL

 Seoul is the capital of Korea and the best developed city.

 

 

1960's Seoul

 Maybe you have heard 'Miracle of Han River'. It recalls the surprising development of Korea, especailly Seoul. However, behind its positive apperance, the workers of factories were troubled with its poor labor environment.
 Do you know 'Jeon Teail'?
He is the person who set fire to himself arguing improvement of workers environment. He shouted 'Laborer is not a machine!'. What it means? At that time, lots of laborer, most of seoul young citizen, had to work as machine.





FOOD 
 Seoul has been the Joseon Dynasty's capital for 500 years, so many Joseon traditional foods are remained. In fact, seoul has not special representing food because we all eat the food from seoul and seoul has not special natural resources. It is not unusual that the representative food of Korea is same with representative food of Seoul, so I'd like to introduce some traditional food of Korea.

Korea's Development in Gwangju

Gwangju

​ ⁠Gwangju is one of Korea big city. Let's see some details of Gwangju.

⁠​Gwangju is located near 'Jeollado' . In Korea, Jeolla is very famous for Korea traditional delicious foods. Especially, they are well-known as lots of side dishes. Then, let's look some representative foods of Gwanju.

It may very special date to Gwangju citizens. In Gwangju, some poeple enter into armed struggle as firstly.

They make head against to new army group and martial law insisting retiring military of 'President Jun' and releasing of democatic figures. In that process, many Gwangju citizens are injured by police and military, and they are even murdered. Still now, Gwangju people are very sensitive to that tragedy.

 I am Minjeong Jang, 21 years old Korean girl. I am interested in Korean various region, so I will upload about Korean towns including their food, sights and so on. Most of all foreigners who come to Korea may know some typical cities like Seoul, Busan. However, Korea has lots of attractive cities and there are also lots of delicious food. I'd like to introduce them to people.

Why Understanding Korea?

 'Because we are living in Korea.' I think this is obvious reason why we understand Korea.
